Trip Types Westport, WA

Our traditional bottomfish trip is still the favorite for most. With a 7 fish limit, action on the Black or Yellowtail rockfish gets fast and furious. This is an all ages event, never a dull moment! In addition to the rockfish, we are also allowed to keep 2 Lingcod per person. Lingcod are ugly, but mmm… they taste so good! Herring, shrimp fly lures, and live anchovies are the proven “fish getters” year after year. Thanks to the rebuilding of Canary Rockfish stocks, and the willingness of our fishery managers to relax the regulations, Canary are now 100% keepers! They can make a colorful addition to 7 fish rockfish limit.

This is the foundation trip that put Westport on the map as early as the 1950’s. Salmon are one of the most exciting sport fish ever known, Ocean caught Salmon are not just beautiful to look at, they are awesome to catch and also second to none if you desire flavor! A Salmon fresh from the sea, prepared with your special recipe, will have your taste buds dancing and anxious for your next trip to Westport. (No Braided Line please if you bring your own rod/reel) Salmon fishing generally opens on July 1st and runs until Labor Day.

Can’t decide whether to salmon or bottomfish this season? Our combination salmon/bottomfish trip just might interest you. As the name implies, we combine a bottomfish trip with a salmon trip on the same day; generally targeting rockfish and salmon, but when Lingcod are snapping, you can keep those too! They work great for people with busy lives who might only have one chance a year to come to Westport. If you love the taste of fresh whitefish fillets, but desire the thrill of a “Big King” on your line and can’t decide, our combination trip is for you! We get to catch a lot of fish on this trip, so we scoot the departure time just a little bit earlier. Sorry sleepyheads. For more information and selected dates on combo trips, give us a call.

This is a physically demanding trip, but extremely popular with the adventurous. Fishing depths range up to 700 feet, and we generally travel out 35 miles. Regulations restrict Halibut fishing to designated days until the quota is reached. Rockfish and/or Lingcod are also pursued as a secondary target when time and weather permit. These additional fish make a great Bonus to an already exciting trip! Remember, space is limited, so to avoid disappointment, book early.

The deepwater trip will target Ling Cod (large variety) and a variety of rockfish. Thanks to the rebuilding of certain groundfish species and the relaxing of regulations by our fishery managers, we now get to offer, for a limited time, this special Deepwater Fishing Trip. These trips will take place in offshore waters that have been closed for many years (except for the few select halibut directed days). We are excited to add this deepwater experience to suite a variety of fishing opportunities. These will be limited load trips (meaning less passengers are taken than a typical bottomfish trip) and they will be available during the first two weeks of June only.

As we prepare for another successful season, we are looking forward to more action packed days! Be sure to bring warm clothes, a sleeping bag and enough food to tide you over. Our boat has a RSW refrigeration system to keep your fish fresh at the perfect temperature. The Swifty takes up to 10 people per trip, which is ideal for a group of friends to charter the whole boat!
Our trips board at 6:30 PM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting in August and go through the beginning of October.
